Portable GFCI Plug: Key Features Patented Auto-Monitor Function: This GFCI plug conducts a self-test every 5 seconds, exceeding the UL standard of 3 hours, to ensure continuous protection against electrocution. Choosing the Right GFCI Plug: 2-prong or 3-prong: Ensure compatibility with your power device, whether it has a 2-wire or 3-wire plug. Automatic or Manual Reset: Automatic reset GFCIs are suitable for applications where power restoration doesn't pose a safety risk, such as pressure washers, pool pumps, and vending machines. Manual reset GFCIs are recommended for dangerous power tools or lawn equipment where automatic restoration could be hazardous. GFCI Plugs or In-line GFCIs: GFCI plugs have the GFCI integrated into the plug, while in-line GFCIs have a separate plug, which can be more suitable for use with waterproof boxes in outdoor settings.

Installation and Testing: Installation involves connecting the hot (black) and neutral (white) wires to the respective colored screws, and securing the strain-relief clamp to prevent wire pull-out. Testing the GFCI plug is essential to ensure it's functioning properly. Simply plug it into a regular outlet, press the TEST button, and then the RESET button to verify the green indicator light is on, signaling a successful test.
